Library Overview
Sir Padampat Singhania University Library System, initially setup in 2007, consists of Central Library (both School of Engineering & School of Management), which collectively supports research activities of the university by facilitating the acquisition, organization, and dissemination of knowledge resources, and also provides library and information services to the SPSU community. The library is an integral part of the university and imparts its services to students, faculty members, and other staff members. The central library is fully automated through the ERP – Library Mangement Sysetm.
It provides a single-window search facility to access the information resources available in the library. It is centrally air-conditioned which creates an aesthetical and congenial environment for serious minds. The library has a seating capacity for over 150 readers The catalogue of books and other study materials is available online.
Library Advisory Committee (LAC)
The Library Advisory Committee plays an advisory role with respect to the library in terms of general policy, planning, programs and goals. The objectives of the LAC are to support the university’s need for teaching, learning, research, community building and to assist in establishing a bridge between the library and academic fraternity with management.
The following members are the constituted representatives of the LAC –
- Chairperson: Dean, School of Engineering is the chairperson of LAC
- Members: HOD of the all department are members of LAC
- Secretary: Librarian is the the Secretary of LAC

Digital Library
Developing Library Network
DELNET is the Major Digital Library Resources in South Asia and the main objectives of DELNET is to promote resource sharing among the Member-Libraries by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering networked library services to users; to undertake research in the area of information science and technology, offer technical guidance to Member Libraries coordinate efforts for suitable collection development; facilitate and promote Inter Library Loan and delivery of documents, etc. DELNET has developed Discovery Portal, Knowledge Gainer Portal and Vision Portal (Video Lectures). The portals have sophisticated features for advance knowledge discovery.
National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning
NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning), is a joint venture of the IITs and IISc, funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Government of India, and was launched in 2003. Initially started as a project to take quality education to all corners of the country, NPTEL now offers close to 600+ courses for certification every semester in about 22 disciplines.
National Digital Library of India
NDLI Is a repository of e-content on multiple disciplines from primary to PG levels. It has 4.3 crores content (Text / Audio / Video / Simulation /Graphics), harvested from 250 sources; in 300+ languages. NDL has 55 Lakhs + registered users.
