SPSU participates in the Women leadership programme organized by the University Grants Commission on ‘Women Leaders: Shaping Academic Excellence for VIKSIT Bharat @2047’ held on 13th December 2024 at IIT Delhi

Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) proudly participated in the prestigious Women
Leadership Programme organized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The event,
titled “Women Leaders: Shaping Academic Excellence for VIKSIT Bharat @2047,” aimed to
empower women leaders in academics and contribute toward shaping India’s vision for a
developed nation by 2047. The event was inaugurated by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ji,
Honourable Education Minister, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar Ji, Honourable Minister of State for
Education and Prof. Mamidala Jagdesh Kumar, Chairman UGC.
Held at IIT Delhi, the programme featured panel discussions, and an interactive Q&A session focused on women in academic leadership roles. Esteemed panelists from various institutions shared insights on challenges and opportunities faced by women leaders and the pivotal role of leadership in fostering an equitable and inclusive academic environment. One of the key highlights was a comprehensive dialogue on UGC's initiatives in supporting women leaders through policies and institutional support frameworks.
Under the visionary leadership of Prof.(Dr.) Prithvi Yadav, President & Vice-Chancellor, SPSU two of the women faculty members, Prof. Shweta Lalwani, Professor and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Management and Dr. Archana Gajbhiye, Associate Professor and Coordinator-Student Welfare were nominated to represent the university at this important event. SPSU’s active participation in the event reflects its commitment to promoting gender equity in academia and preparing its women faculty and leaders to contribute to India’s long- term growth trajectory.
