Dr. Bhavana Adhikari, Dean Academics, Sir Padampat Singhania University was selected as a part of an all-women Motorcycle Riding team biking from New Delhi to Dras Kargil. This expedition was organized by Indian Army to commemorate 24 years of Kargil War. The Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee felicitated Dr. Adhikari for this great achievement and remarked that it has been a milestone in SPSU’s journey making the entire University proud. The team comprised of 25 women bikers which included serving defence personnel, spouses of defence personnel and ‘Veer Naries’. The theme of the rally was Nari Sashaktiran and the bikers spread this message of bravery, valour, sacrifice and women empowerment to NCC cadets, youth, school, college students and general public. The team was flagged off from National War Memorial New Delhi on July 18, 2023, and reached Kargil War memorial at Dras on the momentous day of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, 2023, and paid homage to the brave hearts who gave the supreme sacrifice for the nation. The team covered a total distance of more than 1000 kms in six days time while traversing through high mountain passes, arduous tracks and challenging weather conditions.
