Rangoli Competition and Cultural Events by HOPE Club

‘HOPE’ The Environment Club of the University organized a Rangoli Competition on
the occasion of pre-Diwali celebration in campus on October 14 th 2022 in front of the
mess area from 6-8pm.The theme of the competition was eco-friendly Diwali
celebration. The event aimed to inspire students to celebrate pollution free, easy
breathing green Diwali.
“Fill your home with prayers and light
Not with crackers and fumes.”
The event started with the introduction session of the Rangoli Competition by student coordinator, Ms. Shivani Keshari (B Tech, IV year). Anchor of the event Ms Shifa Shaikh (B.tech, II year) explained the concept of presenting eco-friendly beautiful Rangolis. Forty five students registered in the Rangoli making contest and a total of nine Rangolis were prepared by the participants. The beautiful rangolis made by our students showcased their talent and creative abilities. The jury members for the contest were Dr. Shweta Lalwani, Dr. Archana Gajbhiye and Dr. Tulika Chakrabarti. T. Sathwik Reddy & team (B.Tech III Year), Anushka Gupta & Team (B.Tech I Year) and Mitanshu Agrawal &Team (BBA, I Year) were adjudged at the first, second and third position respectively.
After Rangoli competition a small cultural event was organized by the club members which included dance performances by Ms. Harshita Maratha (B.tech, I Year), Ms. Disha Vyas & group (MBA,I year) and an old song mash up by Tarang Srivas (B.tech III Year) & Mudit Maharshi( BBA II year). Everyone in the audience enthusiastically participated by lighting up candles and took a vow of green Diwali celebration at their homes. Dr. Tulika Chakrabarti, Faculty Advisor of HOPE Club gave the vote of thanks and urged everybody to celebrate smoke free Diwali by avoiding crackers and saving nature. More than 100 people comprising of the faculty advisors, club members, senior faculty and students were present in the event.
