One Month Training Program in collaboration with FL Smidth on Cement Manufacturing at SPSU
Sir Padampat Singhania University partnered with FL Smidth to organise world`s first of its kind one month long training program on Cement Manufacturing in Advanced Technology. FL Smidth is a leading original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in cement and mining industry controlling 65% of market share.
The Honourable President and Vice Chancellor, Prof.(Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee, SPSU inaugurated the one month long training program on Cement Manufacturing in advanced technology in collaboration with FL Smidth and JK Cement Pvt Ltd on 22nd February 2023. Applauding the JK Cement’s legacy she mentioned that the University is taking many such initiatives in the form of partnerships and collaboration with industries for real-time industry exposure and creating industry ready work force. Emphasizing the need for sustainable and ecologically friendly technology for cement production she highlighted that such extensive training programmes are crucial for giving students real-world experience, encouraging creativity, fostering a culture of research, and developing future-ready professionals capable of solving challenging industrial problems.
Forty one students from various streams of engineering including graduate engineering trainees from cement industry participated in the training program. More than 25 FL Smidth experts from varied domains trained the students on various aspects of cement manufacturing including cement plant layout, machine operation, maintenance, machine design, automation, industry 4.0, latest trends in cement industries and many more. Experts from Denmark and USA also connected virtually to answer student`s queries. The real time plant training was provided by connecting with the cement plants across India virtually. Each training session was followed presentations from students based on the tasks assigned to them. Dean Academics Dr. Bhavana Adhikari guided the execution of this month long training program. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Naveen Kumar, Head Mechanical Engineering. Students with excellent performance were also awarded.
