Makar Sankranti (14, Jan 2024) the harvest festival was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at SPSU. The day marks the transition of the Sun into the zodiac sign of Makara Rashi (Capricorn) on its celestial path. A highlight of the celebration was the Kite Flying event, where a kaleidoscope of colorful kites adorned the clear blue sky. Participants showcased their creativity with kites of various shapes and hues, making the sky come alive with a burst of colors. The students engaged in the age-old tradition of flying kites, adding an extra layer of excitement by running and ducking to maintain their kites’ airborne status. The spirit of sportsmanship was evident in the various games organized during the celebration. Participants exhibited commendable enthusiasm and skill, contributing to the lively and competitive atmosphere. Beyond the games, the entire university community, including students, faculty, and residents, joined in the festivities with great fanfare. Makar Sankranti at SPSU became more than a festival; it was a collective expression of joy and togetherness, uniting everyone in the celebration of nature’s cycle and the spirit of camaraderie.
