For the holistic development of the students Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur, in collaboration with SPIC MACAY, organized the screening of film ‘The Making of Mahatma’ and an intensive interaction with the renowned Indian film and theatre Actor & Director Mr. Rajit Kapur on September 9, 2022. Honourable Vice Chancellor and President SPSU Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee felicitated the distinguished guest in the presence of officials including Col. Sanjay Sinha, Head of Education, JK Cement Ltd and Deans.

In the interaction with the students Mr. Rajit Kapur in a very lively and interesting  manner discussed the portrayal of Gandhi in the movie, the story of transformation of an ordinary man to a Mahatma, the ideals of Gandhi as honesty, non-violence, resilience, the fight against racial discrimination and the impact the movie had on his mind and character. Citing examples from the real life situations and his personal experiences Mr. Rajit Kapur answered to the queries of the students and highlighted that life is all about the choices one makes. Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee applauded the diligence of Mr. Rajit Kapur and described the event as the making of an actor who has a profound impact on the lives of many and the manner he motivated the youth in handling the crisis situations and paving a way for oneself despite the odds. The students, faculty and the entire SPSU fraternity participated actively in the interactive and insightful session.
