SPSU Organized Two-Day FDP on “Generative AI for Educators”

The School of Engineering and Sciences, Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur successfully organized a two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Generative AI for Educators” to enhance faculty understanding of emerging Artificial Intelligence technologies and their academic applications. The FDP featured Mr. Mohit Gupta, Corporate Trainer and Authorized Learning Partner for Microsoft and Google, as the expert speaker.

The Hon’ble President Dr. Sanjay Sinha, in his inaugural address, emphasized the need for educators to remain abreast of rapidly evolving technologies, particularly Generative AI, and highlighted the importance of organizing regular Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) for continuous faculty upliftment. He encouraged educators to adopt AI-driven tools responsibly and ethically in the teaching-learning process to foster innovation, academic excellence, and future-ready education.

Through interactive and hands-on sessions, the expert Mr. Mohit Gupta introduced participants to various Generative AI tools and demonstrated their transformative applications in educational content creation, creativity, productivity, marketing, human resources, and other professional domains. He also emphasized the ethical and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in academic and professional practices. Faculty members actively participated in the hands-on learning activities, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions throughout the programme.

The FDP concluded with a task-based competition among faculty teams, showcasing collaborative learning and practical application of Generative AI tools. The FDP was coordinated by Mr. Dipesh Vaya, Department of Computing and Informatics, under the guidance of Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) Amit Goel, and Head, Department of Computing and Informatics, Prof. (Dr.) Anand A. Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur organised an enthralling SPIC MACAY Bharatanatyam performance on April 24, 2026. The programme featured eminent Bharatanatyam artist Shri Samrat Dutta, along with co-artists Shri. Sreerag, Smt. Mohana Iyer, and Shri. Vignesh Jayaraman. Samrat Dutta, a disciple of Padma Bhushan Prof. C.V. Chandrasekhar, is a widely acclaimed Bharatanatyam performer, mentor, and choreographer.

The Farewell for the graduating batch of 2026 was celebrated with great grandeur and heartfelt emotions at Sir Padampat Singhania University on April 17, 2026, creating a truly memorable evening. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble President Dr. Sanjay Sinha, Chief Guest Mrs. Sandhya Sinha and Pro President Prof. (Dr.) Prasun Chakrabarti with traditional lamp lighting ceremony symbolizing knowledge, hope, and new beginnings for the graduating students.

The farewell witnessed the presentation of mementos to the students of the graduating batch marking a token of remembrance. The evening unfolded with vibrant cultural performances that brought the stage to life. A highlight of the evening was the screening of the Memory Video, a heartfelt tribute that beautifully encapsulated years of friendship, achievements, and unforgettable leaving the audience nostalgic and emotional. The celebration culminated with an electrifying DJ night, where students immersed themselves in music, dance, and celebration— marking a joyful transition into a new phase of life.

The Centre of Excellence for Environmental Science and Sustainability at Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur, successfully organized an expert lecture on Environmental Sustainability and Global Commitments on April 9, 2026 bringing together thought leaders, academicians, and students for an engaging discourse on environmental sustainability.

Dr. Ram Boojh, a renowned environmentalist associated with global organizations such as UNESCO and UNEP, graced the occasion as the distinguished speaker. Hon’ble President Dr. Sanjay Sinha, along with the Pro-President, Prof. (Dr.) Prasun Chakrabarti felicitated the guest.

In his welcome address, the Hon’ble President Dr. Sanjay Sinha emphasised the critical role of higher education institutions in advancing sustainability. He highlighted that universities must go beyond academics to foster environmental responsibility, innovation, and ethical leadership. He also urged the academic community to adopt sustainable practices and build a resilient, environmentally conscious society.

The keynote lecture by Dr. Boojh provided deep insights into the evaluation processes of environmental sustainability. He elaborated on significant global milestones such as the World Summit on Human and Environment and the Paris Agreement, while also reflecting on India’s proactive contributions towards achieving its net-zero targets. SolidWorks Training Programme in collaboration with MSME at SPSU

The Faculty of Integrated and Advanced Technology at Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) successfully concluded a week-long SolidWorks Training Programme from April 3 to 10, 2026, in association with the MSME Technology Extension Center, Udaipur. The event drew over 100 undergraduate students from Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, Mining Engineering, and Civil Engineering, offering hands-on training in SolidWorks software for real-world engineering applications.

Dr. Sanjay Sinha, Hon'ble President of SPSU inaugurated the workshop on April 3, 2026. In his address, Dr. Sinha urged participants to seize such opportunities to build essential skills and boost their career prospects in a competitive industry landscape.

MSME Technology Extension Center, Udaipur, played a pivotal role by extending organizational support and providing expert resource person Mr. Pankaj Paliwal, whose sessions delivered practical insights into SolidWorks modelling, assembly, and simulation techniques across engineering domains.

Interactive workshops emphasized the software's versatility, enabling students to apply it in design projects relevant to their fields. Prof. Naveen Kumar, Deputy Dean of the Faculty, highlighted SolidWorks proficiency as a gamechanger for modern engineers, fostering innovation and efficiency.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dr. Pankaj Mohan Rastogi, and Dr. Deepak Pandey, concluded on April 10 with marking a milestone in skill-building initiatives at SPSU.

SPSU’s III Year B.Tech Civil Engineering student, Neeraj Kumar Kumawat, earned a well-deserved Medallion for Excellence in Bricklaying Skills at the IndiaSkills 2025–26 National Competition held at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. He was felicitated by Shri Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Hon’ble Minister of Industry and Commerce, Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Rajasthan. Neeraj’s achievement reflects his dedication and perseverance, strengthened by the mentorship of Dr. Avinash Ojha, Faculty of Civil Engineering at SPSU. Glow and Grow: A Candle Craft Workshop at SPSU

On April 2, 2026 Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur, successfully organized an engaging and creative workshop titled “Glow and Grow: A Candle Craft Workshop” under its flagship initiative PRERNA, aimed at fostering holistic development, creativity, and self-reliance among students.

The event was graced by the Honourable President, Dr. Sanjay Sinha, whose vision behind PRERNA continues to inspire initiatives that blend experiential learning with life skills. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of the Guest of Honour, Ms. Sandhya Sinha, who motivated students to embrace creativity and explore their inner potential.

The workshop was conducted by Ms. Vandana Verma, a woman entrepreneur and the driving force behind Mahi Tatva, a self-financed initiative promoting sustainable and handcrafted products. Through her expert guidance, students were introduced to the art and science of candle making, including techniques of moulding, fragrance blending, and aesthetic design.

Participants enthusiastically engaged in the hands-on session, creating their own customized candles while gaining insights into eco-friendly practices and the potential of transforming creative skills into entrepreneurial ventures. The workshop not only enhanced artistic expression but also aligned with PRERNA’s objective of nurturing innovation, sustainability, and self-sufficiency among students.

Further, the students along with their mentors were awarded certificates for the successful completion of Prerna project 2024-25.

The workshop was coordinated by Prerna Coordinators Dr. Shibani Banerjee and Dr. Shweta Lalwani. The session was delivered by Mr. Chandra Shekhar Nagda, Group Head – Brand Communications at Patel Phoschem Limited, for BBA and MBA students. Designed in an engaging and interactive format, the lecture incorporated discussions, activities, and case-based learning, enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications.

The lecture provided valuable insights into the dynamics of brand building, creative strategy, and the expanding role of digital marketing and Artificial Intelligence in shaping modern marketing practices. Students also gained exposure to current industry trends and the key competencies required to excel as marketing professionals in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

From Self to Society: NSS Special Camp at SPSU

Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur successfully organized a Seven-Day NSS Special Camp from March 12–18, 2026, fostering a spirit of community engagement, experiential learning, and social responsibility among students and faculty. The camp served as a dynamic platform to promote leadership, discipline, and a sense of service towards society.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble President Dr. Sanjay Sinha, who, in his address, highlighted the importance of discipline, leadership, and civic responsibility in shaping responsible citizens. He encouraged NSS volunteers to actively engage with communities, uphold ethical values, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building through selfless service in line with the spirit of “Not Me, But You.” The Pro President, Prof. Prasun Chakrabarti emphasized the role of education in shaping socially responsible individuals, inspiring students to address real-world challenges innovatively. This was followed by a keynote by the Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Udayprakash R. Singh, who highlighted the importance of youth participation in sustainable development and community engagement.

The week featured sessions on gender equality and women empowerment, village outreach visit to Batheda Khurd with a clean drive and environmental rally, and programmes on cybersecurity, consumer rights, and digital responsibility. Key observances included World Consumer Rights Day and National Vaccination Day, along with initiatives under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. Activities such as tree plantation, anti-drug rally, and environmental awareness drives were also conducted promoting sustainability and community engagement. ASC 2026 – Symposium on Applied Scientific Computation at SPSU

The event featured distinguished keynote speakers- Dr. Indrajit Pal, Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Dr. Bui Thanh Hung and Dr. Le Nhat Duy from the Industrial University, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), who shared insights into cutting-edge developments in computational science and interdisciplinary applications.

The day also witnessed an exciting Faculty exhibition football match between SPSU and Pacific University. The match was graced by Mr. Sujit Kumar Srivastava, Olympian and distinguished contributor to Indian hockey, along with Mrs. Sandhya Sinha as Guests of Honour. Their inspiring presence motivated the teams and reinforced the spirit of fair play.

ASC 2026 showcased recent advancements, and bridge academia–industry gaps, covering themes such as numerical methods, data science, optimization, high- performance computing, bioinformatics, quantum computing, and digital technologies. A significant highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Center of Excellence on Environmental Science & Sustainability.

Convened by Dr. Prithvi Singh and Dr. Tulika Chakrabarti ASC 2026 concluded with a strong emphasis on collaborative research, global engagement, and the growing relevance of computational methodologies in shaping the future of science, technology, and sustainable development.

International Women’s Day Celebration

The Equal Opportunity Cell of the SPSU organized a vibrant celebration of International Women’s Day on March 13, 2026, bringing together students and faculty members to honour the achievements and contributions of women in society. Although International Women’s Day is globally observed on March 8, the university held the celebration later to ensure wider participation due to examinations and weekend holidays.

The event was coordinated by Prof. Monika Anand and Dr. Archana Gajbhiye, with active support from student coordinators Gunnam Jahnavi, Bhimishetti Lohith, Mritunjai Singh, Talluri Deepak, and Chanakya. Around 60 participants attended the event, which aimed to promote awareness about women’s empowerment, equality, and opportunities.

The programme began with a welcome address highlighting the significance of Women’s Day and recognizing the contributions of women in fields such as science, education, leadership, sports, and technology. The celebration featured a series of interactive and engaging activities designed to both educate and entertain participants.

The first activity was a Women’s Day Quiz, where participants answered questions about influential women and significant milestones in women’s history. This was followed by the “Who Am I?” round, where students identified prominent personalities such as Mary Kom, Kiran Bedi, Ada Lovelace, Malala Yousafzai, and Kalpana Chawla based on clues.

Adding a creative and lively element to the program, the Dumb Charades round challenged participants to act out famous personalities and professions without speaking. Teams enthusiastically guessed characters such as Rani Lakshmi Bai and Kalpana Chawla, as well as professions like scientist, doctor, astronaut, and police officer. The excitement continued with a Rapid Fire round, which tested the participants’ quick thinking and general knowledge.

The event concluded with a fun “Pass the Balloon” teamwork activity, where participants had to pass a balloon without using their hands, encouraging coordination and collaboration among team members. Small refreshments, including biscuits and drinks, were distributed to participants who answered questions during the activities, adding further enthusiasm to the event.

As part of the celebrations, a Mehendi (Henna) activity was also organized at Girls’ Hostel-2 Common Room in the evening. Girl students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity through intricate mehendi designs, creating a festive and culturally rich atmosphere in the hostel.

Overall, the celebration successfully highlighted the importance of recognizing women’s achievements and promoting gender equality. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members made the event both meaningful and memorable, reinforcing the message of empowerment, respect, and equality in society.

PANACHE 2026@spsu: A Grand Celebration Of Talent And Innovation

Panache 2026, the much-awaited techno-management, sports and cultural annual fest of Sir Padampat Singhania University,Udaipur was celebrated with great enthusiasm from February 19 – 20, 2026. The fest witnessed vibrant participation from more than 40 teams across the district, including Mohanlal Sukhadia University, College of Technology and Engineering, Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Pacific University, Techno India NJR Institute of Technology and other institutions. The festivities began from February 18 with an energetic flash mob and unveiling of the Panache 2026 banner, setting the tone for the grand celebrations. The event was inaugurated on February 19, by Hon’ble President Prof. (Dr.) Prithvi Yadav, Pro- President Prof. (Dr.) Prasun Chakrabarti, and distinguished guest Col. Prakash Kumar N. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

The fest featured a diverse range of technical and management events including Technura and AI Slingshot Hackathons, E-gaming tournaments such as BGMI, Free Fire, and Valorant, and intellectual competitions like BizGyan Quiz and Model United Nations. The Carnival Hub remained a major attraction and the cultural evening enthralled the audience with a spectacular performance by the Apricot Band, complemented by vibrant student performances, an impressive fashion show, and an energetic DJ Night.

Day two was dedicated to sports competitions including Cricket, Football, Kabaddi, Basketball, Volleyball, Chess, and Table Tennis. A special highlight of the day was the exhibition football match between GITS Employee XI and SPSU Employee XI which was graced by Chief Guest Dr. S. M. Prasanna Kumar, Director, Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies and Guest of Honour Smt. Savita Yadav. The fest concluded with a prize distribution ceremony honouring the winners. The event received constant support and encouragement from the SPSU management, Registrar, Campus Director, CFAO, faculty members and staff whose guidance contributed significantly to its success.

Panache 2026 was organised by the Student Council under the guidance of Dr. D. S. Chouhan, Deputy Dean, Student Welfare, and Dr. Archana Gajbhiye, Coordinator, Student Welfare. Young Design League 2026

The Young Designers League (YDL) at Avantika University served as a significant platform for emerging designers to present their work, engage in critical discussions, and gain exposure to professional perspectives from the design industry.

At the core of YDL was a curated exhibition of 30 finalists, selected from a competitive pool of participants. Among these finalists, five students from Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) secured positions – Yugvi Jain, Bhawni Sharma and Kaushal Khatri of 2nd year and Hansvahini Soni and Mhd. Zaheen Khan of 3rd year.

Their projects were presented in the exhibition- marking it as a notable achievement and highlighted the quality of work presented by the institution.

During the exhibition, young designers, jury members, and visitors actively engaged with the SPSU students, taking time to view their projects and ask questions about their ideas, execution, and thought processes. These interactions provided students with valuable exposure and direct feedback, making the exhibition a meaningful learning experience beyond formal evaluation.

Alongside the exhibition the the carnival was in full swing. There were multiple stalls, each reflecting the personality of the students running them. Students sold items they had created using their own skills, whether it was art, fashion, or food. What made it special was that students handled everything themselves, from music and food to managing the stalls and crowd.

One of the key academic highlights of YDL was a panel discussion on Phygital Design and the Illusion of Intelligence, addressing the evolving intersection of physical and digital experiences in contemporary design.

Students gained valuable insights into how designers must critically question technology rather than blindly adopt it, especially in an era increasingly influenced by AI and hybrid digital-physical experiences.

Students were invited to ask questions directly to the panelists. The guests actively responded, addressing queries related to emerging technologies, design responsibility, real-world application of Phygital systems, and the role of designers in an AI-influenced future. following that was the highly anticipated award ceremony. The guest panelists presented awards to the winners, recognizing innovation, concept clarity, and design excellence demonstrated throughout the competition. It marked a celebratory conclusion to YDL 2026.

Overall, Young Designers League 2026 provided students with a strong platform to showcase their work and engage with the design community at Avantika University.

Conclave: Path to Sustainability 2026- Strategy and Implementation

Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur in association with TERRE Policy Centre, Pune successfully organized Conclave: Path to Sustainability 2026- Strategy and Implementation on February 2, 2026 to mark the celebration of International Wetlands Day. Dr. Rajendra Singh, renowned water conservationist popularly known as ‘Waterman of India’ graced the occasion as Chief Guest. His inspiring address emphasized community-led water management, ecological balance, and responsible citizenship.

Honourable President Prof. (Dr.) Prithvi Yadav highlighted the university’s commitment to sustainability-driven education, research, and community engagement and emphasized the importance of nurturing environmentally responsible citizens through interdisciplinary learning and innovation.

The conclave also highlighted the MoUs for campus sustainability and Prerna 2.0 with United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN GCNI), New Delhi; TERRE Policy Centre, Pune; Swaaha Resource Management, Indore; Ambuja Foundation, Udaipur Sarvhit Kalyan Seva Samiti, Meerut and WeNaturalists, Delhi.

The Prerna booklet that included the projects undertaken during the academic year 2025 was also launched and the community engagement project SPSU’s Prerna 2.0 was declared as well.

The conclave featured two impactful panel discussions. Panel Discussion I: “Wetlands in the SDG Framework: Educational Pathways for Sustainable Futures” examined the significance of wetlands in achieving SDGs and the role of education in fostering environmental awareness. Dr. Vinita Apte, Founder, Director-TERRE Policy Centre, Pune was the moderator. The panel included eminent experts such as Mr. Ratnesh, Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network, Ms. Karuna Singh, Regional Director, Asia-Earth Day Network, Dr. Sameer Sharma, CEO. Swaaha Resource Management, Mr. Rajesh Soni, Technical Head, JK Cement, Nimbahera, Mr. Brijesh Sharma, Environmental Head, JK Cement and Mr. Ronak Shah, CEO Seva Mandir, Udaipur. They shared insights on policy, conservation practices, and community engagement.

Panel Discussion II focused on “Biodiversity Conservation: Challenges, Strategies, and Way Forward” addressing biodiversity loss, conservation strategies, and future directions for ecological resilience. Dr. Ram Boojh, Former Environmental Specialist UNESCO was the moderator. The distinguished panellists were Mr. Amit Banka, Founder & CEO, WeNaturalists, Mr. Chinmay Jain, Zonal Manager, Ambuja Foundation, Prof. (Dr.) Madhu Vats, Brand Ambassador, Mission Swachh Bharat, Founder SKSS, Mr. Ravi Govindraj, Regional Director, Nature Science Foundation, Mr. Sangeeta Patra, Senior Vice President, Skill Council for Green Jobs and Prof.(Dr.) Prithvi Yadav, President, SPSU.

A key highlight of Conclave 2026 was the Green Sparks Ideathon, where more than 100 students from 20 schools in and around Udaipur showcased innovative projects addressing sustainability challenges across domains such as renewable energy, waste management, water conservation, and climate action. The First Prize was won by Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Maharaj Ki Khedi, Second by The Study Sen. Sec. School, Udaipur and Third Prize by PM Shri Govt. School, Navania respectively.

The Conclave was successfully coordinated by Dr. Tulika Chkrabarti, Dr. Prithvi Singh and Dr. Imran Anwar.

SPSU Celebrates 77 th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervour and a Vision for Innovation

Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur celebrated the 77 th Republic Day with great enthusiasm, pride, and patriotic spirit. The celebration was marked by the unfurling of the National Flag by the Honourable President and the Vice Chancellor Pro.(Dr.) Prithvi Yadav. Addressing the gathering, the Honourable President reflected on the remarkable journey of the University and its steady path of development over the years. He recalled the challenging period of COVID-19 pandemic and highlighted how SPSU demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and collective strength to emerge stronger. Drawing a parallel between the nation’s progress and the University’s growth, he emphasized that SPSU has continued to evolve in alignment with India’s developmental aspirations.

A key highlight of the celebration was the inauguration of “AIRA” – an AI-generated robot made by SPSU students, marking a new chapter of innovation and technological advancement at SPSU. The leadership commended the University’s commitment to embracing emerging technologies, research, and interdisciplinary innovation.

The Vice Chancellor urged the SPSU fraternity to remain positive, forward-looking, and dedicated to contributing to the nation-building process through education, research, and sustainable practices. He also applauded SPSU’s recognition as a sustainable campus, appreciating the institution’s holistic approach towards environmental responsibility, green initiatives, and sustainable development.

The celebration featured patriotic cultural performances by students, including soulful renditions of patriotic songs, inspiring dances, and thematic presentations reflecting the spirit of unity, sacrifice, and pride in the nation. On this occasion, certificates of appreciation were distributed to students, faculty members, and staff for their commendable contributions throughout the year in the fields of academics, research, innovation, sports, NSS, NCC, Skill India Competitions, cultural activities, and community engagement.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Anand Bhaskar, Proctor, SPSU, who expressed gratitude to the university leadership, organizers, participants, and students for making the celebration meaningful and memorable. Pro-Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Campus Director, Faculty members, administrative staff, students, and entire SPSU fraternity participated actively in the celebration.
