The department strives to impart knowledge and training to students in latest technologies in order to keep our students always ahead of curve. The objective of the department is to prepare students for a successful career in Industry, Research and Academics to meet growing need of technology. Our efforts are to develop the ability among students to synthesize data and technical concepts for application to product design.
The department provides an opportunity for students to work as a team member or as a project leader on multidisciplinary projects.
It provides students with a sound foundation in the mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals necessary to formulate, solve and analyze engineering problems and to prepare them for higher studies as well as research.
In order to make our student future leaders in the industries and bridge technology gap between acadmia and industry, the Department is actively colloborating with industries for curriculum development and delivery. Our Cement Technology course is developed with the inputs from FLSmidth, an MNC OEM for cement industry and JK cements Ltd. The training and delivery of some of advance courses are delivered by industry experts.
Additionally, in order to offer opportunity to our students to master the technology related to operation and maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic machines and digital manufacturing, we have experts from GHH Group and Beumer Group for the training. HoD Profile
Dr. Naveen Kumar is serving as Professor and Head in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He received his Master’s of Engineering from IIT Roorkee and Doctoral degree from NIT Kurukshetra. He has more than 21 research papers including papers in SCI and web of science indexed journals and conferences to his credit. Dr. Kumar has successfully guided two PhD scholars and currently supervising many research scholars.
He has also supervised three MTech Thesis. Dr Naveen Kumar organized three international conferences as a convener where researchers from across the globe participated.
He also has published Indian patent and book chapters. He has also delivered expert lectures on additive manufacturing. He is also serving in reviewer panel of reputed international journals. His current research interest areas include Flexible Manufacturing System, Intelligent manufacturing, optimization techniques and renewable energy. Dr. Kumar has more than 20 years of experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
