Overview of Ph.D Programme
The Ph.D programme at Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) is designed to promote advanced
research, innovation and scholarly excellence across science, engineering, management, humanities
and interdisciplinary domains. The programme aims to equip researchers with strong analytical
skills, research ethics and domain-specific expertise, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to
academia, industry and society.
SPSU provides a supportive research environment with experienced faculty supervisors, modern

Eligibility
Ph.D
- Candidates who have completed a Master’s degree from any UGC-recognized institution with at least 55% marks or a CGPA of 5.5/10 are eligible to apply for the Ph.D. program at SPSU.
- For candidates with a foreign Master’s degree, admission will be confirmed only after the university verifies the equivalence of their qualification.
- Candidates who have qualified M.Phil, UGC-CSIR NET, JRF, SLET or GATE are exempted from the Ph.D. entrance examination at SPSU.
Selection Process
Ph.D
Admission to the Ph.D. programme at SPSU follows a merit-based and transparent process consisting
of:
- Online/Offline Application through SPSU Portal
- Entrance Examination conducted by SPSU (as per UGC norms)
- Exemption from Entrance Test for eligible candidates (as per UGC norms)
- Personal Interview / Research Proposal Presentation
- Evaluation of research aptitude, subject knowledge and alignment with department research areas
- Final Selection based on:
- Entrance test score (if applicable)
- Interview performance
- Academic record
- Research readiness and availability of supervisors
- Provisional Admission & Coursework Registration
