Dean’s Message

On behalf of Faculty of Law (FOL) at Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU) Udaipur, we heartily welcome you to visit our lush green campus in the city of lakes at Udaipur. We, as a Law School, work earnestly to equip students to take leadership positions in the law profession, Judiciary, industry and society as social engineers and catalyst. You will experience Faculty of Law’s in-depth and progressive and practical international & NAAC Binary Accreditation Framework pedagogies appropriate to your course content and peer group learning. The experiential learning by moot court exercises, project-based learning, case discussion in class, based on the Harvard Law School Case Studies and Supreme Court Judgments, are among the pedagogies used for most of the courses. The gap between theory and practice is narrowed through on-campus and on-site interaction with prominent lawyers, Judges and corporate leaders. This is a significant feature of the curriculum design of all the Programs offered by the Faculty of Law and students find numerous interaction windows through moot court, guest lectures, project work, seminars, industrial site visits, and summer internships. The faculty has adopted the ‘flipped classroom’ approach.

Students are encouraged to access and internalize lectures and lecture materials through online or on-campus library delivery. As per this approach they use class time only for collaborative peer-to- peer learning. Besides the standardization and internalization of Law and management principles, a great emphasis is placed on independent, out-of-box thinking. All course outlines are as per Outcome Based Education (OBE) & NAAC2020 format designed by our faculty members. As a premier Law school duly approved by the Bar Council Of India, we ensure excellent intellectual capital development through quality Law and Management education for all our stakeholders. A team of excellent, experienced world-class faculty and a bank of legal and Judicial experts is the driving force that embodies up-to-the-minute knowledge and process from across the world.

The faculty has excellent international tie-ups with institutions and universities in Japan and Malaysia, which enable content development, research, and student & faculty exchange. The faculty also has deep industry linkages at all stages of a student’s education span and new courses are often designed in step with BCI guidelines and market demand for a particular area, such as business & Corporate Courses designed and implemented in line with the BCI instructions. The faculty is encouraging faculty members and students to involve in practical research projects. The industry has responded very positively to the quality education imparted by the Faculty of Law and placements stand at 100% with each student receiving multiple offers and excellent packages. I feel proud to mention that the list of recruiters grows with each passing year. We invite you to visit our website and campus, interact with the students and the faculty members, and be a part of the SPSU family.
