Fostering research, innovation and development Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur organised a workshop on Feb 25^th 2023. The Honourable President and Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. (Dr.) Padmakali Banerjee applauding the workshop accentuated collaborative research in multidisciplinary areas. She stressed the Pygmalion effect in research writing, which highlights the importance of direction, trust, teamwork, positivity, and setting benchmarks for the best results, as well as the Japanese concept of Kaizen, which stands for continuous and incremental improvement to achieve positive change and co-creation through research.

The resource person Professor Vikramaditya Dave, Head Electrical Engineering CTAE, Udaipur emphasized on the significance of research, extension and teaching Learning pedagogy. Discussing problem solving, innovation in research and emerging topics he brought to light the difference between fundamental and applied research. Insisting on investigation, optimization and green technology for sustainable development he encouraged the participants to pursue interdisciplinary research. The workshop aimed to impart researchers with basic skills in writing and publishing good-quality papers in peer-reviewed journals. It helped the participants to understand general concepts of research, ideation, problem identification, analysis, and most importantly to construct an argument in a research paper, do an effective literature search and review, effectively present their research results, draw conclusions, and some of the important aspects like authorship, plagiarism, publication ethics, suitable journal selection and use of various reference managers and LaTex for manuscript preparation.

The technical sessions on LaTeX and Reference Management Tools as Mendeley were successfully delivered by Dr. Yashovardhan Vyas, Faculty Mathematics SPSU and Dr. Ritesh Tirole Faculty Electrical Engineering respectively. Prof. Vinod Patidar Dean Research motivated the participants to be persistent, develop research self-efficacy and focus on qualitative research. Col. Sanjiv Tomar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Bhawana Adhikari, Dean Academics, Prof. Sanjay Mishra, Registrar, Prof. Arun Kumar, Dean School of Engineering with their vivacious presence inspired the participants. Er. Puroshottam Paliwal from Institute of Engineers, Udaipur Chapter graced the event with his presence. It is noteworthy that more than 80 participants from various institutes including faculty, research scholars, M.Tech and MBA students across the state participated actively in the knowledge sharing session.  The event was very well organized and executed by the Conveners-Dr. Ritesh Tirole and Dr. Tulika Chakraborty with the active support of the entire team of the Directorate of Research (Dr. Amrit Ghosh, Dr. Prithvi Singh, Dr. Yashoverdhan Vyas, Dr. Manish Dadhich) and Mr. Aman Jain along with student volunteers Rajni, Shivani Kesri and Manoj Chandra and K Uday Kumar.
