SPSU Celebrates the 79 th Independence Day with Pride, Honour and Patriotism
Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur, celebrated the 79th
Independence Day with great zeal, enthusiasm, and patriotic fervour. The campus
resonated with the spirit of freedom as the National Flag was ceremoniously hoisted
by Prof. (Dr.) Prithvi Yadav , Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University, followed
by the singing of the National Anthem.
In his address, Prof. Yadav paid tribute to the freedom fighters and proudly
highlighted SPSU’s remarkable journey in research, academics, and sports, along
with its recognition as an innovative teaching–learning university. He inspired
students to uphold SPSU’s legacy by staying positive, striving for growth, and
contributing to the University’s and Nation’s progress. Emphasizing the power of
youth, he urged them to harness creativity, pursue unique aspirations, and lead with
vision and excellence.
As a landmark initiative spearheaded by the Honourable Vice Chancellor, the
achievers across diverse categories, celebrating their dedication, talent, and
accomplishments were felicitated. More than 30 students were applauded for
successfully completing internships at prestigious institutions such as IISc, ISM, IIT’s
and IIM’s. Two students were appreciated for representing SPSU in the International
Exchange Programme at Chiba University of Commerce, Japan, fostering cross-
cultural learning and global perspectives. Five students were commended for their
participation in SPIC MACAY’s 10 th Global Convention at IIT Hyderabad. Students
were also honoured for their impactful stage performance of the historic play
Padmavat.
The NSS and NCC Cell organized a poster exhibition showcasing themes such as
Har Ghar Tiranga and Anti-Ragging campaign. The creative artworks, designed by
SPSU students, reflected their patriotism, social awareness, and futuristic
aspirations. As a part of the Anti-Ragging Week Celebration, the activities to
promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment were also
emphasised. The celebration came alive with vibrant cultural performances by the
Spotlight club symbolizing the unity in diversity.
The event concluded on a note of pride and solidarity, reaffirming SPSU’s
commitment to fostering responsible citizens who will contribute to the nation’s
growth and uphold its cherished values. The celebration was successfully
coordinated by the Proctor Prof. Sadananda Prusty, Deputy Dean Student Welfare
Lt. (Dr.) D.S. Chouhan, and Coordinator Student Welfare Dr. Archana Gajbhiye. The
participation of Pro Vice Chancellor, Campus Director, Registrar, Deans, Dy. Deans,
faculty members, students and the entire SPSU fraternity made the occasion truly
memorable.
