Jal Pujan Utsav by Hope Club, SPSU – A Traditional Celebration to Promote Water Awareness

“Hope” The Environment Club celebrated Jal Pujan Utsav with great enthusiasm to promote awareness about water conservation and the cultural reverence for water in Indian tradition on March 26, 2025. The event highlighted the significance of water as the essence of life, drawing inspiration from the ancient Indian philosophy of living in harmony with nature. Students and faculty participated in the pujan rituals at Rain Water Harvesting site, followed by discussions on sustainable water management, aiming to inspire responsible usage and protection of this precious resource. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr.P.C. Jain, a renowned Water Conservation Specialist from Udaipur. To respect the customs and traditions of ancient India, students attended the event wearing traditional Indian attire. Dr Tulika Chakrabarti, faculty coordinator of Hope Club, Dr Manish Dadhich, Faculty of Management along with twenty four student volunteers were activity participated in this event.
