The Faculty of Design and Liberal Studies (FDLS) focuses on the multidisciplinary education, a learner-centric approach and promotes holistic and experiential learning. The faculty equips students with the adaptability to navigate change, embrace diversity, and manage complexity. Research and Innovation

At the Faculty of Design and Liberal Studies (FDLS), research and innovation are integral to the learning experience, fostering an environment where students actively engage in hands-on exploration and field-based learning. Through regular field visits, students are immersed in real-

Dr Bhavana Adhikari

Dr Bhavana Adhikari

Dr Bhavana Adhikari is a Mechanical engineer with a doctorate in management and has a vast
experience of more than 25 years in teaching , research, training and academic administration. Dr
Adhikari is a highly accomplished academic with expertise in the field of educational innovation and
curriculum development. With a keen understanding of the evolving needs of students and the
changing landscape of education she has been instrumental in designing the flexible credit system
that aligns seamlessly with the National Education Policy 2020. She has been a resource person and
a trainer for Management Development Programmes at various national and international forums.
Her research interests include competency development, personality studies, employee
engagement, and management communication. A keen researcher she has published several books/
research papers in reputed refereed journals. She has been the principal coordinator of two
prestigious European Union, ERASMUS+ projects on Capacity Building in Higher Education.

Monika Anand

Dr. Monika Anand

Monika believes that communication is the key differentiator that can elevate people’s careers and
lives. Twenty years of experience in teaching and training continue to reinforce this belief. Her goal
is to enhance the ability of people to be effective communicators, especially in a corporate setting.
As Deputy Dean – School of Liberal Studies, she works towards creating a vibrant interdisciplinary
environment where students engage with diverse perspectives and cultivate a deeper understanding
of the world around them. In her role as a Professor and Head, Department of English she facilitates
the development and proficiency of communication skills for students at undergraduate and
postgraduate levels. Her drive lies in working with students and creating experiential learning
environments that are stimulating, encouraging and adaptive to the varied needs and backgrounds
of students. She helps aspiring students and young professionals develop a personal brand which
further helps in establishing their executive presence.Monika is a PhD in English literature, an Associate Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and
a certified Trainer by MEPSC, NSDC and Skill India. Her responsibilities apart from teaching courses
on Business Communication, Corporate Communication, Soft Skills, English Literature and Language
over the years include designing, implementing and monitoring soft skills training strategies;
coordinating with leading trainers from various sectors to fine-tune and calibrate training
methodologies; conducting training and impact evaluation of training/teaching sessions.
