Brief Biography of Faculty Members

Dr. Monika Anand

Dy. Dean Faculty of Design and Liberal Studies, Head Dept. - English
Monika believes that communication is the key differentiator that can elevate people’s careers and lives. Twenty years of experience in teaching and training continue to reinforce this belief. Her goal is to enhance the ability of people to be effective communicators, especially in a corporate setting. As Deputy Dean – School of Liberal Studies, she works towards creating a vibrant interdisciplinary environment where students engage with diverse perspectives and cultivate a deeper understanding of the world around them. In her role as a Professor and Head, Department of English she facilitates the development and proficiency of communication skills for students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her drive lies in working with students and creating experiential learning environments that are stimulating, encouraging and adaptive to the varied needs and backgrounds of students. She helps aspiring students and young professionals develop a personal brand which further helps in establishing their executive presence.
Monika is a PhD in English literature, an Associate Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and a certified Trainer by MEPSC, NSDC and Skill India. Her responsibilities apart from teaching courses on Business Communication, Corporate Communication, Soft Skills, English Literature and Language over the years include designing, implementing and monitoring soft skills training strategies; coordinating with leading trainers from various sectors to fine-tune and calibrate training methodologies; conducting training and impact evaluation of training/teaching sessions.

Dr. Shibani Banerjee

Professor

Dr. Shibani Banerjee works as Professor, English. With a vast experience of 20 years of teaching the graduate and undergraduate students her pedagogical philosophy is deeply rooted in fostering not only linguistic proficiency but
also inculcating values of compassion and social responsibility among her students. She has a gold medal in Masters in English and qualified NET (National Eligibility Test for Lecturership in India) organized by the University Grants Commission of India. She has been awarded by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, New Delhi, Jawaharlal memorial fund and several professional bodies of repute for academics and exemplary performance in debate competitions. Her research interests converge at the intersection of literature and societal transformation and encompasses Women’s Writing, Sustainability, Gender Studies, Indian Writings in English and English Language Teaching and Learning. She has published papers in International and referred journals. Her research also focuses on sustainability, emphasizing its pivotal role in fostering societal resilience and environmental stewardship. She has served as a Reviewer in International Conference, invited speaker, Conference Chair and published papers in several peer reviewed National and International journals of repute. She is dedicated to inspiring students to refine their skills and communicate effectively. Actively
engaged in mentoring and counseling, she acts as a potent motivator and helps students achieve their professional and personal goals. Her teaching pedagogy focuses on interactive, participative and knowledge sharing sessions.

Ms. Yasha Purohit

Assistant Professor
Yasha Purohit brings a diverse academic background, including a Master's in Fashion Management and  Bachelor's specialization in Fashion Design. Specialised in Brand Management from IIT Delhi. She is pursuing Ph.D. in Design from Banasthali Vidyapith. Yasha has extensive experience in UX design and fashion, previously serving as Head of the Design Department at JIET Institute of Design and teaching at prominent institutions such as Manipal University and Vivekananda Global University. Yasha combines her expertise in user-centric design with teaching. With a diverse background in both fashion and UI/UX design, Yasha fosters creativity and functionality in her students, preparing the next generation of design leaders. Her hands-on approach and industry experience ensure an engaging and impactful learning experience.
