Training and Placement

The University attaches high importance to the employability of the students and thus has a Training and Placement Cell in place which liaises with the Industry on a regular basis. The aim of the cell is to provide placement assistance to graduating students. The Cell organises seminars, workshops and lecture series/ interactive sessions by experts from the Industry and Academia.
Employability support programmes, based on framework developed by assessment Companies like AMCAT, are provided to the students from time to time as these assessments map the general aptitude, behavioral traits and communication skills of the students as per the industry requirements. AMCAT conducted online Mock interviews of all the participants of the online test. The feedback reports of the online tests and the Mock interviews have helped in focused training of the students in improving upon their performance and employability skills as per industry requirements. Placement opportunities were provided to the students in various companies based on AMCAT scores.

Training programmes

International Summer Industrial Training Programme at JK Cement Plant, Fujairah (UAE) - a fully paid industrial training

JK Cement Works in conjunction with the University organized an International Summer Industrial Training Programme last year for selected final year students of 2017 batch at JK Cement plant in Fujairah (UAE). Twelve selected students of the 2019 batch will be undergoing training at the Fujairah plant this year.

International Summer Industrial Training Programme at Hitachi Rail Systems, Japan – with stipend

The University has an MOU with Hitachi Rail Systems Ltd., Japan for the Rail Transportation Engineering degree programme. Selected five students of Rail Transportation Engineering will undergo a paid industry internship programme for eight weeks at Hitachi Rail Systems Ltd., Japan this summer.

Centre of Excellence (Next Gen. Technologies) - Valeur HR - paid Industrial Internship Programme

ValuerHR in collaboration with SPSU is providing the best talented students from the final and pre-final year to work on their live projects in HANA Cloud Platform, Artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and other Web Applications. These interns are paid a stipend during the training period and the top performers are placed in their final year.

Pre-placement offers

Job offers have been given to some of the students who have been associated with the companies during their summer training and completion of projects. These offers are mainly from the Civil Engineering branch in the current batch of 2018.
