SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur is organizing Department of Science and Technology (DST) sponsored INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Internship Science Camp from 14-18 January 2019. The University has been successfully organizing this camp since 2015 for Top1% Class XI Science students and contributed to the DST’s mission of nurturing and promoting research and innovation in Science & Technology. SPSU Convocation 2018 | December 18, 2018

Convocation 2018 of the Sir Padampat Singhania University, (SPSU) Udaipur was held on Sunday, 16th December 2018 at the University Campus. Professor Don H. Madison, Curators Distinguished Professor of Physics, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri, USA was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Convocation 2018 was presided by the President of Sir Padampat Singhania University, Mr. Ashok Ghosh. The Graduating students were awarded Bachelors, Masters and PhD degrees from the two Schools – the School of Engineering and the School of Management. Divyansh Sharma of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Mechanical Engineering was awarded the Chairperson’s Gold Medal for having secured the highest marks in all examinations conducted by the university in that year. The President’s Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in their respective disciplines was awarded to Rajendra Kumar Phulwari for Master of Computer Applications, Deepak Agarwal for Civil engineering, Aroun Amitabh Dalawat for Computer Science and Engineering, Divyansh Sharma for Mechanical Engineering and Taha Hussain Aziz for Bachelor of Business Administration.

Prof. Don H. Madison, Curators Distinguished Professor of Physics, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Rolla, Missouri, USA delivered a Lecture on "Accuracy of theory for calculating 3-Body and 4-Body fully differential cross section for electron-impact ionization of atoms and molecules" on December 14, 2018 at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur. He emphasized upon the importance of fundamental research. He described his own research results of cross section for the electron impact ionization of atoms and molecules using various perturbative and non-perturbative approaches. Prof. Madison also highlighted the practical application of this work on Cancer prediction, protection and understanding of DNA strand breaking. The enriching lecture was followed by a question-answer session in which the students and faculty members of the University participated actively.

United Nation’s Day Celebration at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur | October 24, 2018

SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY celebrated the United Nation’s Day (24 October, 2018) to reminisce the organization of the United Nations and its agenda of promoting human rights, diversity and progress across the world. The programme comprised of a Debate Competition on the topic ‘United Nations Organization has been successful in maintaining world peace’ which was followed by a presentation on the role of UNO and one of its functioning body International Labour Organization. A skit depicting the calamities of war and its after effects was also presented by the NCC students. The programme concluded with a Peace March in which the students, faculty and the administrative staff of the University participated actively.

Orientation and Selection for NCC at SPSU on 28th August 2018 | August 28, 2018

The orientation and selection process for enrollment to the unit of NCC at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur was held on 28th August 2018. Colonel Sudhakar Tyagi from 10 Raj Battalion gave an overview about the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and talked about the benefits and incentives of joining NCC. The selection procedure comprised of a written test followed by a physical ability and stamina test. The shortlisted students appeared for personal interview for the final selection. The participation and enthusiasm of the students in the programme was commendable.
