International Yoga Day celebrated at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur, Rajasthan | June 21, 2018

The International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2018 was celebrated at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY. Dr. Deepak Vyas, Proctor, welcomed the guests and briefed about yoga as a lifestyle. He also shared how yoga is not a work-out but a work-in. Professor Sushil J Lalwani, Dean, School of Management, highlighted the importance of Yoga, meditation and association with nature in daily life. Practising yoga daily not just leads to a healthy life but also a healthy mind and overall well-being. A hands-on yoga session was taken by Yog Guru Deepesh Vats at the University. He highlighted the significance of each asana and how yoga unites mind, body and breath. The students, teaching, non-teaching, and the administrative staff of SPSU participated enthusiastically in the event. The event was coordinated by the NSS Cell of the University. Mr. Harish Tiwari, NSS Programme Officer thanked everyone for their active participation.

Innovative Projects on Renewable Sources of Energy exhibited in Project Endeavour at SPSU | April 7, 2018

Projects on Renewable Sources of Energy under Project Endeavour were evaluated by the experts from the industry and academia on 7th April 2018 at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur. Project Endeavour is a unique initiative of the University that aims to learn, articulate, foster research, analyze and above all motivate our students in the development of novel ideas into reality. This year young minds of the University worked dexterously on making projects on one of the most sought and latest forms of energy – Renewable Sources of Energy. Various projects as Solar Powered Mobile Charger, Construction and Comparison of Vertical and Horizontal Axis Wind Turbines, Design of Popsicle Stick Bridge Embedded With Solar Panels, Water Level Indicator Using Solar Power Battery Source, Fabrication of Lawn Mower Cycle and many others focusing on the use of solar energy to enhance our daily lives were evaluated by the internal and external jury. The experts applauded the concept and appreciated the projects.

Industrial visit at Gandhisagar Dam, Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh | March 22, 2018

The students of SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur along with the faculty mentors visited Gandhisagar Dam, Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh on 22 March 2018. The professionals on the site guided the students about the working conditions and applications of various engineering principles used in power generation and its transmission. The industrial visit was an enriching experience and provided the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and get a hands-on knowledge of aspects related to hydro-power generation.

Training on online admission process for Kendriya Vidhyalaya through A-View at SPSU | March 17, 2018

Training on the online admission process of Kendriya Vidhyalaya conducted by IIT Bombay through A-view was hosted at SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur on 17 March 2018. The Principals, Teachers and officials of Kendriya Vidhyalaya from KOTA Cluster of Rajasthan participated in the session. SPSU being a remote center of IIT Bombay responded to their request for coordinating the event. The University also provided hands on orientation in the computer lab about the usage of the features and functionality of the admission portal of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.

Prof. Vinod Patidar from SPSU selected for the ICM 2018 Open Arms Grant | March 9, 2018

Prof. Vinod Patidar from SIR PADAMPAT SINGHANIA UNIVERSITY, Udaipur has been selected to receive the Open Arms Travel Grant to present a research paper at the 28th International Congress of Mathematicians to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The Grant is jointly awarded by the Instituto de Matematica Pura e Aplicada (IMPA), Sociedade Brasileira de Matematica (SBM) and International Mathematical Union (IMU).
