Master of Library and Information Science

Master of Library and Information Science is a professional course that covers an advanced study of the principles and practices of library science along with the current technologies used. Libraries are important centers of knowledge, but managing them requires skill. Library science programs imparts knowledge to future librarians to disseminate and manage information to ensure flawless availability of books to students. This course at SPSU will prepare students to organize and catalog library materials, create and maintain information databases.

Programme Objectives
  • To provide an in-depth knowledge about Library and Information Science and upgrade the professional competency of individuals

  • To equip students with library science skills to overcome the challenges of the industry

  • To enrich strategic and operational insights of the Library and Information Science

  • The minimum eligibility is any graduate (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. or any other equivalent degree) level education with B.Lib. from a recognized University

  • Admissions will be on merit basis i.e. the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in their B.Lib. course

  • Admission to all SPSU Programmes will be through the Admission Test - SPSAT
