Course Description:Civil Engineering is focused on the primary requirements of the human being such as roads and transport, shelter, health and hygiene etc. It covers a vast area of engineering domain like transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, water resource engineering, remote sensing and environmental engineering. In essence, civil engineering may be observed as the profession that makes the world a more delightful place to live.
Department of Civil Engineering of this university offers a four year B.Tech. degree program in Civil Engineering. The main objective of the department is to offer standard level of technical education and research guidance to the students to meet the various challenges in the profession and to develop leaders in the field of civil engineering. The academic activity of the Department emphasizes on deep understanding of fundamental principles and development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering.
The course curriculum is contemporary and balanced covering all the specializations of civil engineering. The curriculum also allows the students to choose a number of elective courses, some of them being interdisciplinary in nature. Departmental and interdisciplinary projects as well as industry internship programs allow the students to complement their knowledge and to give freedom to their ideas and visions. The Department has developed state-of-the-art laboratories, viz., Solid Mechanics Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Transportation Engineering Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, Surveying and Geology Lab. A team of well-qualified, young and energetic faculty members is an added strength of the Department.

Eligibility for Admission:
- Pass in 10+2 science or its equivalent examination from a recognised board (Preferably above 60%)
- Admission to all SPSU Programmes will be through SPSAT’17.
