Course Description:

The B.Com.(Hons.) degree programme aims to develop wide range of skills and proficiency in the field of commerce and accounting. The course curriculum is based on UGC guidelines and comprises ability-enhancement compulsory courses, skill-enhancement elective courses, core courses, discipline specific electives and generic electives. It provides in-depth understanding and working skills in accounting, taxation, banking, statistics, corporate law, economic policies and other aspects that impacts trade and business. The syllabus has been aligned to meet the requirements of CA, CS, ICWA, CMA and CFA. Students are also offered advanced career option through international courses of repute such as Professional Accountancy Qualifications by the Association of International Accountants (AIA), UK.

Programme Objectives:

• To impart conceptual knowledge and skills for recording and analyzing various kinds of business transactions for a company and other forms of business.
• To familiarize with the applications of mathematical, statistical and IT skills necessary for business decision making.
• To prepare the students for higher professional qualifications in the field of commerce and finance.

Eligibility for Admission:

  1. Pass in 10+2 in science, humanities or commerce or its equivalent examinations from a recognised board

  2. Admission to all SPSU Programmes will be through the Admission Test - SPSAT’17
