I welcome you to the Sir Padampat Singhania University.

Our University became a University by an Act passed by the Legislative Assembly of the Government of Rajasthan. We opened our doors for academic pursuit in October of 2007. There is a moment in time when institutions are ready to step into the future - a time to dream new dreams, dreams of a great Centre for Higher Learning.

Sir Padampat Singhania University is at that historic moment. My goal is to work from the J.K Cement Group’s strong legacy of public service, research and educational outreach toward the prize of academic excellence in all disciplines. The priority of academic quality is not for institutional prominence alone, but to create an intellectual engine for students, faculty and the community - to expand our capacity for discovery and public service.

Our quest is to become a defining technological university of the twenty-first century. This quest includes a twin track strategy of offering a wide range of outstanding academic programmes, infusing them with a unique technological perspective that increases their relevance in today's world, together with a campus-wide effort to build an academic infrastructure, administrative and support equal to that task while emphasizing human values that lie at the core of our educational mission for the University.

As the pace of innovation accelerates and the global economic playing field grows more level, universities will be increasingly called to go beyond providing high-quality classroom and lab experiences to the more open-ended enterprise of teaching students to adapt to a lifetime of creativity and innovation.

I am aware that excellence in higher education cannot simply be achieved and held. It is a process, a mode of thinking, and an ongoing exercise in planning and improvement. We shall seek excellence to preserve the standing of this institution and to serve better the people of India and beyond who come here to teach and learn.

We start our new dreams as an infant, yet the future will be an exciting ride. Look to the pages of this website for our progress as we position this University as a university for the future. And I want to make sure that all of you are a part of that process of evolution.
