Technical Report on National Seminar on Analytical Electrochemistry
NSAE-2010, Sponsored by UGC, CSIR, DST, and DRDO, New Delhi Organized by Department of Chemistry, JNV University, Jodhpur

A National Conference on Analytical Electrochemistry sponsored by UGC, CSIR, DST, and DRDO, New Delhi, was organized by the Department of Chemistry,JNV University on 8-10 February 2010.

Aim: The conference aims at addressing the challenges in the emerging areas of advanced analytical techniques and instrumentation for applications in analytical sciences. It provided useful forum to academicians, technologists, entrepreneurs and policy makers for exchange of concepts and emerging technologies in the field of Electrochemistry and Analytical chemistry.
The possible outcome of the conference was an attempt to discuss and disseminate knowledge about such possibilities which would require identification of advanced sources, methods to harness them, identify problems of their potential and try to bring out the state-of-art by listening to the leaders in this field, as well as imbibe the ideas of those who are working in the field of analytical chemistry.

Invited papers were of the following fields:
Material science
Electro analytical instrumentation
Electrode Kinetics
Electro analysis
Electro analytical chemistry for cleaner environment.

Booming economic growth, rapid industrialization and high standard of living of the global population demand more and more resources in different forms but at the same time causes Environmental pollution problems which need to be managed. My research paper titled “Industrialization and its impact on environment” was selected for the invited lecture on 8Feb 2010 in the seminar. The emphasis was made on the use of various metals for industrialization which causes water pollution problems beyond a certain concentration. The technique used for the determination of metal ions of industrial importance as well as those producing adverse effect was Polarography and the result were compared with Atomic Absorption Spectrometry.
The overall seminar was very informative which enables me to understand various important applications of analytical techniques .Various eminent speakers where called from all over the India, among them were Prof. Rajendra Goyal from IIT, Roorkee, Prof Sampath from IIS Bangalore, Prof D.C Trivedi, and Prof P.S.Verma from various institutions of the country.
I am thankful to the University for providing me the opportunity for attending such conference which was very helpful and informative to me.
