A 5 day workshop on “Introduction to Professional Software Development” was organized at SPSU Campus from 10th May 2010 to14th May 2010.
The workshop was conducted by Nitin Bhide (www.porchys.com), a well known personality in the line of Software Engineering training and consultancy. The workshop was all about training and certification in software development and version control right from requirement phase to deployment phase of s/w development. The workshop was divided in 5 different phases, namely, Introduction to versioning and SVN s/w, Mini Projects understanding and distribution, requirement specification, design documentation and Coding and Deployment. Every phase was of one day in duration. The Students worked on various projects ranging from designing and developing Checkers Game to 2D CAD program and Airport Flight Control Simulator in a strict SVN environment. Different teams of students worked under the able supervision of SPSU faculty members in the projects. The Students were divided into several teams and are supported by faculty members of SPSU for completion of their projects. |
