Cluster-The Volley ball club of SPSU, organised volleyball tournament in the university recently. Though it wasn’t the first volleyball event in the university, but proved to be eye catching.

The first match was held on 23rd February 2010, between “Beast” (capt. Sudarshan Bhadawat) and “Blitz” (capt. Arpit Tripathi). “Kuldeep Purohit” and “Shubham Awasthi” acted as the referee of this match. Blitz lost the first set, but won consecutive 3 sets , claiming their position as the winner.

The second match was held on the same day, between “Navigators” (capt. Kamal Singh Anjana) and “The Aces” (capt. Shubham Awasthi). In this match, “Sourabh Tripathi” and “Rahul Vaya” were referee. “The Aces” did not earn a single set to their credit and lost all the sets to “Navigators”. 

Third match was held on 24th Feb 2010 between “The Aces” and “Blitz”. “Kuldeep Purohit” and “Rahul Vaya” were referee of this match. Blitz being the winner of first match were confident, while “Aces” were under pressure of winning this match. “Aces” put up a strong competition against the Blitz. “Aces” proved to be victorious in this match by winning 3 sets out of 5.

Fourth match held on the same day was between the “Navigators” and “Beasts”. The referees of this match were “Yogesh Mehta” and “Nikhil Giri”. “Navigators” repeated the history of their performance, by beating their opponent in every set. “Navigators” were again victorious.

The fifth and sixth matches were held on 25th February 2010. The fifth match was held between “Navigator” and “Blitz”. The fate of “Beast” was dependent on the result of this match. If “Navigators” wins against the “Blitz”, then “Beast” would have a chance to stay in the league. “Navigators” won the match by winning 3 sets out of 5.

Now, the sixth match was held between “Beasts” and “The Aces”. The referees for this match were “Vikas Mundra” and “Kuldeep Purohit”. “The Aces” won the match, by beating “Beast”. The scorer of every match was Yadhunandan Shrimali.

The final match is still awaited, who will turn out to be the best Volley-ball team of SPSU. The participation, passion and hard-work of all the teams were outstanding.
