National Conference on Information and Communication Technology
While inaugurating two day’s National Conference on Information & Communication Technology: Theory, Applications and Practices held on March 5, 2010,Director of Motilal Nehru National Institute of Information Technology, Allahbad, Prof. Arun Barun Samadar invited attention of academic gathering towards merits as well as misuse of the technology like security problems, social isolation and evils, information pollution, health hazards, ergonomic computing, electronic waste and power consumption. He envisaged e-books with an electronic library and e-newspapers, thus saving tons of paper only because of this technology.
While acknowledging convergence between telecommunications, broadcasting multimedia and information and communication technologies as driving new products and services and innovations, President of the SPSU University Shri Ashok Ghosh stressed the need for creating a new economy having theory of value based on knowledge with all factors of production. He further highlighted that fundamentally the essence of cultures are to be justice, balance and equality and in this situation information is the most important issue in raising of welfare, diversity of services and getting productivity.
Organising secretary of the National Conference Shri Deepak Gaur enlightened the house that around 180 research papers have been submitted and discussions will take place during these two days. Conference will have 8 sessions with number of keynote speakers on various areas like: Computer Organization and Architecture, Computer Networks(Wired and Wireless Technologies),Communication Engineering and Information Security, Intelligent systems and knowledge discovery & Management, Data Management, ICT Tools and Technologies and Internet & Web Engineering. Deliberations during the conference shall encompass present trends of merging IT and CT, their applications in social, education, industrial and financial fields along with current trends in research and development. Infact, globalization enabled by ICT imply that the world is becoming a homogeneous arena for global business and global attitudes.
Prof. Rajkamal, Former Vice-Chancellor, Devi Ahilya University, Indore, Dr. Kuntal Patel of Nirma University ,Ahmedabad ,Venkata P.P.K a scientist from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre ,Mumbai .Prof. K. K. Sud, Shri M. K. Jain, Dr. Niranjan Prasad, Deputy Director, DLRL-DRDO Hyderabad Technologies. Prof.Venugopalan, Dr.Venkateswaran of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal will be keynote speakers in various sessions.
