Govt. of India sponsored Science Camp from October 17-21, 2016
Sir Padampat Singhania University, Udaipur organized INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) Internship Science Camp a program of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India from October 17 – 21 2016 for senior secondary students to promote research and innovation in Engineering and Medicine. The eligibility criteria to participate in this camp is 99.6% (CGPA A1) or above (in CBSE) or 83.1% or above (in BSE, Rajasthan) in class X examination.
The students participating in this five day residential camp had an excellent opportunity to interact with the best scientific leaders of this country. The Govt. specified eminent scientists like, Prof. Ajoy Ghatak, Former Professor, Physics, IIT Delhi, Prof. Ashok Ambastha, Hon. Scientist & Former Senior Professor Physical Research Laboratory, Udaipur Solar Observatory, Dr. J. C Tarafdar, Emeritus Scientist, Former Principal Scientist and National Fellow CAZRI Jodhpur, Dr. Ranjita Pandey, University of Delhi, Prof. R. B. Bapat, Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi, Dr. D.P.S. Rathore, Retd. Senior Scientist, AMD, Jaipur, Dr. Pragnesh N Dave, Professor and Head, Department of Chemistry, Kachchh University, Prof. N.K. Lohiya, Emeritus Medical Scientist & President – ISSRF, Centre for Advanced Studies, Department of Zoology, University of Rajasthan, Dr. Neeta Shrivastava, Asst. Director, B.V. Patel PERD Centre, Ahmedabad, Prof. Anupam Bhatnagar, Head, Dept of Mining, CTAE, MPUAT, Udaipur interacted with the students during this internship camp.
The programme structure at the Science camp comprised of lectures, open discussions and demonstrations, group activities, facilitated self-learning, close interactions, and motivation towards independent thoughts and inquiry-based questions. In addition, there will be laboratory sessions, motivational talks by distinguished academic personalities and scientific documentaries.
