Q1.How do I apply for the programme?All relevant admission details and application form can be obtained from the Registrar, SPSU, Bhatewar, Udaipur - 313601 or downloaded from the University website www.spsu.ac.in .The forms can also be had from our City Office at Hill Ville Annexe, Opp. Hotel Hilltop Palace, Ambavgarh, Udaipur - 313001. |
Q2.When should one apply?The application form is available at our website and the last date for submission is June 30, 2010. You may submit the form even before.

Q3.What is the Eligibility Criteria?The Eligibility Criteria is a Bachelor’s (10+2+3) degree examination from a recognized University with minimum of 50% marks. Those appearing for their final examination in 2010 are also eligible to apply. A valid CAT/MAT/XMAT/RMAT/UJAT score should be submitted.

Q4.What is the Selection Criteria?70% weightage is given to the CAT/MAT/XMAT/ RMAT/UJAT score and 15% each for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q5. When and where will the GD and PI be held?Group discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) would be held at the University campus, Udaipur. The specific dates will be intimated separately.

Q6.When and how shall I know that I have been granted admission?The University will communicate to you once the admission process is over. |
Q7. Who are your bankers?The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Udaipur, is our banker. All payment instruments should be drawn in favour of Sir Padampat Singhania University, payable at Udaipur, Rajasthan.

Q1. May I know about the MBA programme offered by SPSU School of Management?
The MBA programme offered by SPSU School of Management is a two-year, full-time, residential programme. The Curriculum is contemporary. The first year of the programme consists of two Semesters; primarily focusing on fundamentals of management courses. After completion of two Semesters, there will be a Summer Training programme of 8-10 weeks. Second year of the programme is made up primarily of academic electives, with an option of choosing major and minor electives.

Q2. Do I get a degree or diploma after completion of my studies?
You will be getting a MBA degree from the University.

Q3. Whether the University is recognized by the UGC?
Yes. The University was established by an Act of the State Government of Rajasthan and is recognized by UGC vide Notification No.: F. 9-8/2009(CPP-1) dated 13 April 2009.

Q4. What is the teaching methodology used in the MBA programme?
We strongly believe that every student has got unique level of understanding and a customized approach is needed. To accomplish this, a mix of techniques are used viz. Case study discussions, role plays, presentations, lectures, tutorial sessions, projects and simulation exercises etc.

Q1.How many students will there be on campus?
There will be around 1000 students on campus. |
Q2.What co-curricular activities will be available on the campus?SPSU is home of around twelve different clubs viz: Writer’s Club , Theatre Club, Footballer's’ Club , Dance Club , Volleyball Club, Cricketer’s Club, Music Club, Badminton Club, Table Tennis Club, Placement Cell, Organizer’s Club and Programmers’ Club. Also students will have access to guest speakers, industrial visits, Workshops and seminars and various other educational and cultural events etc. |
Q3.Do the Management school have uniforms?No, there will be no uniforms. However, you will be expected to dress decently according to an educational institution. |
Q4.How would the residential life like be?
SPSU has a sprawling campus of about 100 acres and being there is an experience in itself. Every floor of each student resident has a common room with a television. There are other recreational facilities like chess, badminton, football and cricket etc. |
Q5.Will I get due guidance during the programme?To foster the culture of strong association and to provide right direction SPSU has initiated 'Mentorship Programme’. Students in the University are divided into small groups and each group is looked after by a mentor, who inspires, understands and provides guidance to the students. |

Q1.Am I guaranteed accommodation if I am admitted to the programme?
Yes, all programmes are residential and you will have to stay on campus. |
Q2.How will I be accommodated?
All student rooms on campus are twin sharing. The facilities for bath and toilets are shared. All bathrooms have hot and cold water. The entire campus including student residences have clean drinking water (reverse osmosis plant).
Further the upcoming new studio apartment fitted with modern amenities will provide accommodation for the faculty & for the final year students of engineering and management.

Q3.Are the hostel rooms furnished?Each room is provided with a bed with mattress, study table and chair, bookshelf and a built-in wardrobe. |
Q4.Will I be able to access the Internet from my room?
Yes, there is a provision to access the Internet from your room. The campus is Wi-Fi with 25 Mbps Internet Connectivity. |
Q5.What kind of food will the campus provide?
On campus only vegetarian food is provided. Everyone (students, management, faculty and staff) on the campus is provided the same food. |
Q6.Will services at campus still be provided during holidays?
Yes, but for longer holidays, exceeding 7 days, there will be no services. This will be notified at the beginning of each academic session. |

Q1.Will there be any medical facilities on campus?
Yes, 24 hours first aid facility is provided in the campus. A doctor visits the campus daily. Besides, the University is having a tie up with a renowned hospital in Udaipur. Ambulance facility is also available in the campus. |
Q2.Does the campus have a library?
Yes, there is a library on campus which remains open for at least 12 hours daily. There is a reference section, a reading room and a section where you can borrow books. |
Q3.What about the safety in the campus?The Campus is extremely safe and is being guarded by one of the best security guarding agencies in the country. Also, being a residential campus most of the faculty and staff stay on the campus creating a large family environment. |
Q4.What is the mode of communication to the campus?
The campus is located on the 4 lane National Highway No.76. There are regular bus services from the city to the university and beyond. The University bus goes at fixed timings to and from the city. |
Q5. Is there any scope to learn any other skills besides MBA programme?Yes. You will have the chance to take English language, presentation and articulation courses. You will also be able to participate in soft skills development programmes. The university offers ‘French Language’ course in collaboration with Alliance Franciase |
Q6. Do I have to stay on campus and why?
Yes, our campus is fully residential. It will foster academic development and overall personality development and also would lead to development of quintessential ‘team building’ skills. |
Q7.Will mobile phones be accepted on campus?
Yes. However, it would be limited to specific hours and specified permissions. Nonetheless, we would encourage you to invite your parents to visit you as often as you feel like.

Q9.Will I find other, non campus related services nearby?
Services which include utilities like banking, hair dressing, laundry, emergency medical, cafeteria etc. are either on campus or close by.

Q10.Why do I have to stay on Campus?
SPSU is planned as a fully residential campus. Besides academic, soft skill development and other such related skills, like language training, would necessitate staying on campus. Besides, hostel life inculcates several team building characteristics. |

Q1.What about Training & Placement opportunities?
The MBA programme will help you to choose the right career path and expose to a wide variety of companies. Blend of peers, faculty, academic rigor, focused training, project and case based learning will help you to be ready for the corporate world. It is hoped that continuous industry interaction will yield good placement opportunities. The placement cell of the University shall assist all the students in their placements.
The Summer Training programme this year involves about 25 companies of repute, that will provide training to all the students of MBA (2009-11) batch.The training will give extensive exposure to the students in the field of Marketing, Finance, Human Resource and Information Technology respectively thereby enhancing their placement prospects.
Some of the major companies offering summer training this year are:
BPCL, Big Animation, Birla Sun life, HSBC Investment Securities, JK Risk Management, Radio Mirchi, Reliance Securities, Inalsa, Arvind Mills, Shalimar Paints, LT Foods, Forbes Bradma, Via Media Communication, Force Motors, Ceat Ltd., Religare Securities, NJ India Invest and many others.

Q2.What about Industry Interface, Collaborations etc?
Besides having linkages with International Institutes and educational bodies the University has signed MOUs/Agreements with the following:
The University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA for study abroad programme enabling our students from the School of Management for an Immersion experience in the USA and also for the Engg. students to study a full Semester Course with them. The first batch of MBA students from SPSU will leave India for USA to attend the Immersion course in the month June.2010.The Engg. students follow later.
The University has also signed an agreement with AIA (Association of International Accounting), London to run the foundation and professional courses offered by AIA. in the Campus.
Other Collaborations/Partnerships entered into are with the IBM and PTC for Centre of Excellence in the University campus and with ORACLE &SUN –MICRO SYSTEMS for being an authorised Centre for Certification courses .All of these companies functioning within the campus provide for high quality training and experience to our students in updating and enhancing their skills.
