DST-INSPIRE Internship Science Camp (17th – 21st October, 2016)
Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has initiated various schemes under its innovative initiative Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) in order to attract and retain young talent to the study of science at an early age. INSPIRE aims at communicating to the youth the excitements of creative pursuit of science, promoting research and innovation in Science & Technology and thus building a huge R&D base. Sir Padampat Singhania University (SPSU), Udaipur has successfully organized such INSPIRE Internship Science Camps in the last few years. This year, it is being organized from 17th to 21st Oct. 2016 at SPSU campus in Udaipur. This five day fully residential camp provides immense opportunity to interact with scientists of national and international repute. They would provide thought provoking lectures, discussions, hands on laboratory sessions, one to one interaction with mentors and motivation towards inquiry-based questions. Participants will be provided registration kit, free boarding & lodging, and study materials for all five days of the camp. There is no registration fee for the camp.
One of the sessions will be conducted for writing on some new and innovative ideas on the topics of national importance like Renewable and non Renewable energy, Second Green Revolution, Clean energy, Make in India, Swachh Bharat & Ganga Rejuvenation, Natural resources utilization for sustainability, Energy conservation efficiency & sustainability, Dairy & Livestock Sector, Harnessing Modern Technology for second green revolution, Recycling & processing of waste to conserve resources and Solid & Liquid Waste Management. The best write-ups will be awarded.
Students of Rajasthan, who are presently studying science subjects in class XI and have secured 99.6% (CGPA A1) or above (in CBSE) or 83.1% or above (in BSE, Rajasthan) in class Xth examination, are eligible to apply for this camp. The applicant should not have attended any previously organized science camp by DST elsewhere. School principals are requested to recommend the eligible candidates of their schools for the camp. The registration form completely filled and duly attested by the school principal should reach the Coordinator (INSPIRE), SPSU, on or before 10th Oct. 2016.
